Kumho
celebrates winners at Autosport International |

 |
Kumho developed its 'winning on' theme at this year's Autosport
International Show, leaving no one in any doubt about the company's
competitive abilities in international motorsport, both track and
rally.
Rallying took centre stage on the two-storey stand with the Kumho
sponsored Subaru Impreza car of Glyn and Gareth Jones in Kumho National
Rally Championship livery on prominent display, and the company's
meteoric progress in Formula 3 racing around the world was also given
a high profile.
Kumho's expertise in developing racing and rallying tyres was demonstrated
by an extensive array of motorsport products. Heading the list were
the ECSTA F3 slicks and wets used in the Marlboro Masters of F3 and
the Korea Super Prix, for which Kumho is Official Tyre Supplier. Highly
praised by many of the world's leading F3 drivers, Kumho's F3 product
has now been adopted as the control tyre by the new F3 Euroseries.
Other products on display included the popular V70A circuit, track day and tarmac rally tyre, the R700 and R800 forest/gravel tyres and the FIA approved C03 tarmac tyre.
The stand also featured several examples of Kumho's comprehensive
ECSTA road tyre line-up. The flagship, ultra high performance Supra
712 was joined by four new products: on show for the first time in
the UK was the asymmetric KU19 for highly tuned sports and super cars,
soon to be available in sizes up to 22", together with the recently
launched KH11 asymmetric tyre for executive tourers and the next generation
MX road-legal track day tyre. One of the biggest crowd pullers was
a jumbo 28" version of Kumho's high performance STX 4x4 street
tyre.
Kumho also had a highly visible, and audible, presence in the popular
Live Action Arena where rally legend Per Eklund stole the show in
his 800hp Pikes Peak Saab on Kumho rallycross tyres.
Managing director JM Kim was delighted with Kumho's success at the
show: "Autosport International gave us the opportunity to deliver
a serious message to the motorsport trade and to raise our brand profile
still further with a large number of car enthusiasts. I believe we
did both very effectively." |
