Kumho cheers for Hamilton's record F1 performance

Lewis Hamilton's record‑breaking run of podium finishes for McLaren in his first four F1 Grand Prix have been cause for great celebration at Kumho Tyres.
Kumho has been the Official Tyre Supplier to the F3 Euro Series since it began and Hamilton's irresistible rise to the pinnacle of motorsport was given a massive boost in 2005 when he took the title after dominating the championship with 15 wins out of a possible 20. That same year he also drove to victory in the prestigious Marlboro Masters of F3 at Zandvoort, another Kumho‑sponsored event.
Hamilton is by no means the only driver to have stepped up to Formula 1 after a successful stint in the Kumho‑backed F3 Euro Series. Three other ex‑Euro Series stars are lining up on the 2007 grid – Nico Rosberg, who drives for Williams, raced for two seasons on Kumho, Spyker's Adrian Sutil was Hamilton's team mate at ASM, while a graduate from the class of 2004, Robert Kubica, started his BMW Sauber from fifth on the grid in Australia. Add to that list the seven current F1 test drivers who graduated from the F3 Euro Series and you have a roll of honour of which Kumho can justly be proud.
According to Kumho's European motorsport manager, Steve Thompson: "Kumho is involved in international motorsport primarily to build brand awareness and it is a bonus to be able to give a helping hand to some future stars along the way. We knew Lewis was something special when he was in F3 and I am delighted he has achieved these superb results."
