After winning the Belgian ERC round a week earlier, Swedish Kumho-backed Ford campaigner Michael Jernberg claimed a fine second place overall at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands, sandwiched between winner Sverre Isachsen and reigning champion Kenneth Hansen who took third. Jernberg now leads this year's European Rallycross series for the first time.
French Kumho man Jean-Luc Pailler also made it straight into the 'A' final after setting the fastest time of the third qualifying heats and eventually grabbed sixth place, behind Dawa Däck's Lars Larsson and Dutchman Jos Kuypers. Pailler's compatriot Laurent Terroitin drove his Kumho Citroën Xsara to seventh overall while the other Swedish Kumho representative, former Rally ace Per Eklund, got stuck in the 'C' final and finished in 12th place.
Among the Group N contenders Czech Roman Castoral drove his Kumho backed Opel Astra to a remarkable fourth place while his fellow countryman Tomas Kotek claimed seventh overall in his Renault Clio. |
