KUMHO-backed driver Michael Jernberg from Sweden claimed a superb overall victory in the fourth round of the FIA European Championship for Rallycross Drivers, held on 11/12 June at the Autodrom Ceska Lipa at Sosnova in the Czech Republic. After twice setting the fastest time in qualifying, Jernberg secured pole position for the all decisive 'A' final and went on to record a fine 'lights-to-flag' victory.
Runner-up was KUMHO Swedish distributor Dawa Däck protégé Lars Larsson, while the two other KUMHO-supported Division 1 drivers, Frenchman Jean-Luc Pailler and Swede Per Eklund, claimed fourth and fifth place respectively behind 'master of the house', Czech Pavel Koutny.
In the point standings of the ERC series Jernberg has climbed to second position and is now just six points behind current championship leader, Kenneth Hansen.
Among the Division 2 contenders on home soil the Czech KUMHO drivers Roman Castoral and Tomas Kotek claimed sixth and eighth places. |
