 Donnelly victorious on the Lakes

Kumho Tyres' backed Eugene Donnelly and Paul Kiely have taken their second international rally victory on the Killarney International Rally of the Lakes.
Driving a Subaru Impreza WRC, Donnelly started the second leg with a 20 second advantage over second placed Austin McHale. Throughout the day, a tit-for-tat battle ensued with Donnelly taking first blood by extending his lead on the first stage. McHale fought back and after stage 17 he moved into the event lead by two seconds. However, it was short-lived as he put his Impreza WRC off the road and into retirement on the following test.
At the end of the event, Donnelly took a comfortable victory over
the second placed Subaru WRC of Donie O'Sullivan and Paul Nagle, also
running on Kumho tyres. Next highest Kumho finishers were fifth placed
Maurice Gass and Geoffrey Orr while Dickie Curran and Billy McCullins
completed the top six.
