This year, for the first time, KUMHO took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the greatest sportscar endurance race of them all. KUMHO supplied the tyres for the Miracle Motorsports Courage competing in Class LMP2 driven by John Macaluso (USA), Ian James (GB) and Andy Lally (USA). Having qualified fourth fastest in class without the advantage of special qualifying tyres, the car went on to challenge the class leaders strongly in the race before being disqualified after a wheel came off on exiting the pits.
In 2005 the car finished second in class P2 of the US-based ALMS series in the capable hands of the experienced Jeff Bucknum together with James and Chris McMurry, a remarkable achievement for KUMHO in its first year of endurance racing.
